KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Sooksun is a Counsel at Chandler MHM Limited. He assists various international clients including Thai and Japanese among others. His main practice focus is transactional, involving general representation on a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters in both cross-border and Thai domestic transactions. He also has extensive experience in compliance and dispute resolution. After graduating from Thammasat University in 2009, he worked at Siam Premier as a corporate and dispute associate for seven years. While working at Siam Premier, he was awarded the CIMB Bank Regional Scholarship to pursue a master’s degree, following which he completed LL.M. at University College London. In addition, he completed his second LL.M at Kobe University with a scholarship from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

Mergers & Acquisitions

• the lead counsel in relation to the merger of Japanese and Lao insurance companies in the Lao PDR. This is the first merger transaction by private entities in the Lao PDR.
• the lead counsel in relation to a business combination between a US special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) and a United Kingdom company (Target) that mainly carries on its operation through a Thai subsidiary. The Target group is a developer and manufacturer of high performance two-wheel electric vehicles with innovative architecture and powered by an advanced electric motor.
• a multinational conglomerate in all aspects of developing a smart-city project with a major real estate developer in Bangkok.
• Cinven, a global private equity firm, on the Thai aspects of the acquisition of Bayer Environmental Science from Bayer AG.
• PTT Global Chemical PLC in connection with its 2.63 billion Baht petrochemical and refinery portfolio restructuring strategy project.
• Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R), a leading global investment firm, on the Thai aspects of the acquisition of OCS Group International Limited and its subsidiaries, particularly its significant facility management operations in Thailand through PCS Security and Facility Services Ltd.

Energy & Infrastructure

• Kai Heng Long Global Energy Limited, a Hong Kong based energy company, in connection with the acquisition of 100% shares in LAUGFS Gas (Bangladesh) Ltd, which is one of the largest LPG distributors in Bangladesh.
• Dialog Group Berhad acting for Dialog Group upstream oil & gas company in acquisition of 100% of the shares in a Thai target, which conducts exploration, production, and sale of petroleum from onshore blocks in Thailand.
• a Thai investor in all aspects of acquisition of stake in a 30 MW solar power plant in Mongolia.
• a foreign project owner in all aspects of its development of combined 27 MW ground mounted solar plants in Thailand.
• a Thai LNG supplier in negotiating the terms of a commercial inter-shipper agreement and gas sale agreement with LNG buyers.
• Krung Thai Bank PLC and Thai EXIM as lenders and subsequent refinancing on project financing to a solar power plant with an installed 220 MW capacity in Minbu, Myanmar.
