Renewable Energy Procurement in Thailand - Considerations for the Upcoming RE Tender
At the COP26 conference in Glasgow last year, the Thai government committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and net zero carbon emissions by 2065. In order to achieve these objectives, the electricity grid and Thailand’s existing energy portfolio will need to undergo rapid decarbonization. In the first major development since the COP26 conference, the Thai Energy Regulatory Commission has released a draft announcement for a new tender for the purchase of power from renewable energy sources.
