On 25 November 2022, Chandler MHM, MHM Vietnam and Myanmar Legal MHM held a webinar on developments in project financing in the ASEAN region. The panel of speakers included Nirmalan Amirthanesan based in Vietnam and Disaporn Saengpetch based in Bangkok, and Julian Barendse, based in Singapore.
The discussion included an overview of recent regulatory developments in Vietnam impacting on the financing of renewable energy projects and offshore financing. The presenters also provided an update on issues related to clean energy financing in Thailand including the renewable energy tender process; and a brief update on the FATF black-listing and foreign exchange issues in Myanmar. The high level of attendance and engagement by the audience is a demonstration of the significant market interest in project financing in the region.
