Chandler MHM advises on award winning deals

The Asset Triple A Infrastructure Awards 2021 (Country Deal Awards ASEAN) were recently announced. Chandler MHM advised on two of the four award winning deals for Thailand and on one of the four award winning deals for Vietnam.

Battery storage deal of the year (Thailand) - This was the first private sector project in Thailand to integrate utility scale wind power generation with battery energy storage. Chandler MHM acted for Lomligor Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of BCPG PLC, on the financing of this 10MW wind power project. The team included Jessada Sawatdipong, Joseph Tisuthiwongse, Sarunporn Chaianant, Suphachok Saengarun, Kun Tanarattananon and Supawich Nimmansomboon.

Power Deal of the Year (Thailand) – This was the first project financing for a small power producer (SPP) replacement scheme in Thailand. Chandler MHM acted for B.Grimm Power Public Company, the sponsor, in relation to the non-recourse financing for the development of 7 small gas-fired power plants. The team included Joseph Tisuthiwongse, Tip-apa Limvichai, Disaporn Saengpetch, Sarunporn Chaianant, Suphachok Saengarun and Prang Prakobvaitayakij.

Green Project of the Year (Vietnam) - The 257-MW project is the largest single operating solar power plant in Vietnam and the financing features the first green B loan in Asia-Pacific by the Asian Development Bank to be certified by Climate Bonds Initiative. Chandler MHM advised on the financing. The team included Joseph Tisuthiwongse, Tip-apa Limvichai, Disaporn Saengpetch and Suphachok Saengarun.
